"Think about it, don't minimize, don't settle, put
it where you want to see it. Don't worry about the pain - that part goes
away. Focus on the pleasure - enjoy the permanence of this fine art." For as long as I can remember, I have been awed by works of art and fought
to achieve my personal "niche" in the beautiful, creative and
intriguing world that remains so tragically sheltered beneath the mundane.
I went to my first tattoo convention with my parents when I was fourteen.
I knew from the vibe, from the buzz, from the creative spirit of that
room, that I wanted to be a tattoo artist.
From the dawn of time, man has created images with various media as a
typical "work of art". With your skin as the canvas, you can
attain a personal and permanent statement of self and become a walking
work of art. Tattoos mean different things to different people. Through
our individuality, we are drawn to certain styles and images. We have
likes, dislikes, ideas & desires. The type of personal art one is
as a human being can easily be conveyed through a tattoo. I started here at Immortal Images as a henna artist. I've been honored
by an indepth apprenticeship under Steve Huntsberry, which brings me
years later to you, as a custom tattoo artist with your best interest
in mind.
Permanent or not, the world of body art is a fascinating world that should
be dedicated to beautification and design. I am here with the men of Immortal Images
to decorate your skin and feed your hunger for wonderful, wearable art. |

Immortal Images is proud to welcome a new apprentice to our team. His name is Elf. Yes, that's right, the legendary Elf that has been airbrushing in Charlotte for over 20 years now and has built quite a name for himself. Now he's tackling the art of tattoo. Elf is now apprenticing here with us and you can see he catches on quick. Each tattoo he does gets better and better. He does need more skin to work on to practice his skills and improve his technique. His rates will start low and move up gradually and he is pretty available for bold and simple designs. Please come by and meet him and maybe let him do a tattoo for you. Check out his portfolios and check out his skills.

I'm from Greenville, NC and I started getting tattooed when I was fifteen years old. When I was 17, I met Garry Nobles, the owner of Skin Gra-fix Studios. It took a couple of years, but he finally decided to teach me. Garry had a lot of faith in me, even when I didn't deserve it. He is a great man, and I appreciate him more than he knows. He taught me a some, then I moved to Tampa, FL to go to art school. After graduating, I moved back to Greenville to finish my apprenticeship. I worked with Garry for another year while he guided me through the steps to running a successful shop. Then I moved to Charlotte in 1994 to open Immortal Images. I'm not sure why I chose Charlotte really, just a "gut" feeling, I guess. I like Charlotte, and it's been good to me. I really learned a lot when I got here, too. There is a lot of competition. It was time to step up and do what I do, the best way I knew how. Fourteen years later, we're still growing. I'm lucky enough to have worked with many fine artists who have passed through my doors. I enjoy all styles of tattooing, but I'd have to say the realistic is my strongest area. I don't like to limit myself to any one style. Everything is cool and fun to do (well, most of it). I started removing tattoos in 1997 with the Medlite laser. That's been a great help, too. There's no better canvas than living canvas. I love to see an illustration come to life as it lives and breathes in the skin. The sky is the limit on how much someone can learn about how to tattoo. Everyday there is something new to learn, and being around such a broad range of styles here in the shop, something new is always available.

Originally from Danville, VA, I have been tattooing since
1994 - first in Richmond VA, then in Durham NC, now I call Charlotte,
NC home. I joined the Immortal Images family in 2002. During my time with
them, I have worked hard to build a strong clientele, and at the same
time, learn as much as possible. I enjoy both color and black and gray
- traditional, new school, Japanese and realistic work. What I enjoy most
is (like all artists) is doing my own original art - anything I design
myself.

Born and raised in a small little town in North Carolina, art has not only been an ever present driving passion in my life but also, was the pass time that kept me out of trouble growing up. I am a huge fan of traditional Americana and Japanese tattooing styles and love tattooing custom designs I have come up with. I am just kicking off my tattooing career but am working diligently every day to learn and improve in every way. |
